WATER TREATMENT

Talleres Patricio Ruiz boasts extensive experience in water treatment solutions for boiler rooms

Decalcification by ion exchange resins and demineralisation by reverse osmosis are the two most common processes.

In small systems or systems with high condensate return rates, descaling is often applied because it is more economical. In this process, the components that cause water hardness (mainly Ca and Mg ions) are exchanged for sodium ions. With this process, the salt content of the water remains almost constant. The ion exchange resins are regenerated with a salt solution (NaCl).

Reverse osmosis is a more cost-intensive method, and is therefore mainly used in systems with high feed water rates, or in cases where for other reasons (e.g. steam quality) boiler water with a low conductivity is required.
